About the Setup
This DIY home studio is an impressive display of recording equipment that has been built into the custom desk and furniture. Jeff Laity has spent years buying and selling equipment to keep his studio up-to-date and catered to his needs.

The speaker/monitor arrangement is being handled by an SPL Surround Monitor Controller. The rack also includes a Lexicon PCM96 Surround and a BAE 1073MP preamp, allowing for control of stereo or surround reverb.

Recent additions to the setup include a 30″ display as well a Studio Electronics Midimoog.

About the Setup
This home office, albeit a bit messy, has an impressive and sprawling arrangement of monitors. Three monitors stand in portrait on the right, while the remaining monitors wrap around the user to the left. Behind the desk sit a couple HP EX485 MediaSmart Home Server.

The furniture is mostly IKEA with a Jerker table, Jerker Desk, two Jerker Printer Towers and Expedit shelving with drawer inserts.

About the Setup
Located in the garage and mounted on 18″ x 24″ plexiglass, this home server is both functional and a beautiful piece of art. With the green LED lighting and the web of computer components laced between the two cabinets, this rig looks like science fiction.

About the Setup
One of the great features of the IKEA Galant family of desks and tables is that they are built modularly. This means that as you need more or less space you can add and remove modules and cater your space to your exact needs. The owner of this setup used that feature when he was married to create additional space for his wife to use.

About the Theater
If you’re thinking about building an HTPC and you’re deciding upon software to use, you should consider Plex. Built on XBMC and available for both Mac OSX and Windows, this software contains one of the slickest interfaces we’ve seen for navigating through your movies and televisions shows. As an added bonus, apps for several phones and tablets allow you do control the entire system.

Another neat feature of this home theater is the Vera home automation system. Combined with the wireless light dimmers, this allows you to control the lighting of the room remotely as well as manage the power consumption of the system with SQ Remote for the iPad.

About the Mod
Built to help promote Sapphire’s Pure Black X58 motherboard, this scratch built PC is appropriately titled “Uriel” which means “The Light of God”. NFC made several prototypes before creating the final build to ensure that the design, balance, and structure would be completely sound. Uriel’s brilliant design and well-executed construction made it a big hit at CES and CeBIT this year.

One of several neat features is that the power supply is purposefully placed within the base, which creates a very low, calculated center of gravity making it extremely difficult to tip over. LED lighting is often executed poorly resulting in a cheaper aesthetic, however this case mod exemplifies tastefulness with its blue LED lighting that illuminates the base, sides, and laser etchings.

Several system components are integrated into the overall design, including the SSD mounted to the back, the cables that wrap around the exterior, and the motherboard which emerges from the side. Check out all the additional photos below!
