About the Setup As you may know, Eyefinity technology from ATI allows up to six displays on a single graphics card. Although not taking full advantage of the six, this setup utilizes three large monitors in portrait position an melds them into one massive display.

Computer Specs - Intel Core i7 920 overclocked at 4 GHz
- Asus P6T6 WS Revolution
- Sapphire Radeon HD 5870 Eyefinity
- 6GB OCZ DDR3 RAM
- OCZ Agility 64GB SSD, 2x Western Digital 750GB in RAID 0
- Creative EMU-0404
- 3x 23″ NEC EA231WMI monitors in portrait

  • Seems to me like he could of just bought one monitor the size of that and saved money and set up and not have lines going down. Looks like my 42″ monitor i’m on now.. Just sayin…

    • That comment by Rhob is about the dumbest I have read. I guarantee you it is NOTHING like your 42″ washed out looking TV.

  • @Rhob

The advantage here is that his three monitors amount to a resolution of around 3240×1920, which is much sharper than a 42″ HDTV. 23″ monitors are relatively cheap now too.

  • that and you can get a 23″ 1080p monitor for about $200 for a decent one, which means 3 of them would only be $600 + mounting brackets, youre looking at about $800 which is roughly the cost of a low end 42″ tv, and not only do you get 3x the resolution (or more depending on the tv) you get a higher refresh rate, usually brighter colors though a less bright screen which is easier on the eyes (since tv’s have to shine brightness throughout an entire room) and there are software advantages depending on how you have the monitors set up, be it three separate monitors registered in windows, or an eyefinity setup where windows just sees them as one single monitor

  • computer monitors in general tend to be much higher in quality and resolution while lower in price, youd be hard pressed to find a tv less than 30″ with full 1920×1080 resolution because you sit so much closer to a monitor than a tv, and with the more expensive monitor types available now, you can find ones that barely extend past the edge of the screen to minimize the size of those lines
