Podcasting took off in 2005 and 2006 as a way to broadcast radio and video shows over the internet. It grew in popularity due to content networks such as TWiT and Revision3 posting regularly scheduled programming. This post contains the setup and a list of equipment that one might need to begin a good, quality podcast.

About the Setup Front and center is a iMac 3.06 GHz with 4GB Ram, Nvidia GeForce 8800 GS and an additional Dell 24″ 2408WFP monitor. The MacBook Pro is a 15″ 2.53GHz with 4GB RAM and Nvidia GeForce 9400m.

The cameras visible are a Kodak Zi6 HD Pocket Video Camera in front and a Sony HDR-HC1 up top. The microphones are a Rode NT1A Condenser Microphone in the top center and a MXL 2006 Condenser Microphone on the left side.

The additional pieces of hardware you may notice in the above photo are an iPhone 3G, an iPhone 3GS, an M-Audio Fast Track Pro, a Logitech LX3 mouse, Harman Kardon SoundSticks II 2.1 speakers, and an IKEA Lamp.
